Creamy & Dreamy Mashed Potatoes
Mash these potatoes while they're still hot and slightly steaming, because warm potatoes absorb the butter and cream so much better than cool ones do. Use a hand mixer at the end to get them truly silky without overdoing it and turning them gluey.

Creamy & Dreamy Mashed Potatoes

Gather
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 sticks softened salted butter
- 5 pounds Yukon gold potatoes
- 1 8 ounce cream cheese
- 1/2 cup half & half
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Freshly ground salt & pepper to taste
Let’s cook
Steps
- Peel all of the potatoes (grab a large bowl and make it fun while watching your favorite show on the couch) ;)
- Cut potatoes into fourths
- Toss them in a large pot and cover all of the potatoes with water.
- Place pot on stove top and boil the potatoes for about 20 minutes or until very tender
- Drain water from pot. Return potatoes back to pot.
- Over low heat on the stove, use a potato masher for about 5 minutes to mash potatoes.
- Turn off the stove heat.
- Add in cream cheese, butter, half & half, heavy cream, salt & pepper.
- Grab a hand mixer or use a bit of elbow grease to whip the potatoes to a creamy and smooth consistency. ENJOY!
